The PSA says women in New Zealand will effectively work from now until the end of the year for free.
That’s because women, on average, earn 13.1 percent less than men.
Lawyer Mai Chen told Larry Williams women have had a raw deal for too long.
“A lot of people are just getting very sick of this. They’re always talking about the gap. Nothing we seem to do seems to be making a difference.”
The Government is currently working to repeal the Pay Equity and Equal Pay Bill, which it says was designed by the National Party to put barriers in the way of women seeking equal pay.
