Jason has an LLB/BA (Political Science and Psychology) from the University of Canterbury. After admission Jason moved to London where he worked, first on the Baha Mousa Inquiry, a large scale public inquiry into abuse of prisoners by UK military Forces in Iraq in 2003, and then on the Inquests into the London Bombings of 7 July 2005.
In July 2011 Jason moved back to New Zealand to join Chen Palmer and has developed specialties in the Working with Government, Education Legal and Maori Legal teams. Jason's work is varied and has included the following:
- Advising PTEs and other business on current policy settings and government priorities
- Drafting Investment Plans, letters of advocacy and legal opinions on matters of tertiary policy and education law
- Case management and advocacy in Wai 2336 Te Kohanga Reo (Karetu, Olsen-Ratana and Tawhiwhirangi) Claim
