Chen Palmer Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Scott Sheeran as a Special Counsel in its Wellington office. Dr Scott Sheeran will join the firm on 1 April 2019.
Scott brings to Chen Palmer a broad range of experience and expertise including from his time working in public law, government legal service, diplomacy, academia, human rights NGOs, the military, and management consultancy.
Scott’s recent prior roles include as Senior Legal Counsel in New Zealand’s team on the UN Security Counsel 2015-16, and as a Director in the Ministry of Defence. He has also held the role of Vice Chair of the Legal Committee of the UN General Assembly. His qualifications are a PhD in law and human rights (Essex), LLM (Cambridge), Diploma in oceans law and policy (Rhodes), LLB Hons and BCom Hons (Otago).
Scott is an example of the career path that Chen Palmer can offer to young lawyers. One of his first jobs was as an Associate at the firm, and it’s now great to see he’ll return in a senior role
