An employment lawyer says the rule of law must be applied to allegations of sexual assault at Parliament.
A review into bullying and harassment revealed 14 people had been the victim of alleged sexual assaults there, including three extremely serious ones.
In a dramatic day yesterday, a parliamentary staff member has been stood down.
Managing partner at Chen Palmer, Mai Chen, told Mike Hosking if a person’s going to be found guilty of serious misconduct or criminal offences, there has to be a detailed accusation.
She says they should have an opportunity to respond, and there needs to be process of assessing whether there’s enough evidence.
